Gislaved and our region
Gislaved Folie is in Gislaved, in western Småland. A district that for the uninitiated is perhaps most associated with car tyres, but production of these ceased in 2002. Gislaved has roughly some 10,000 inhabitants and it is the central district in the municipality.
Here there are excellent opportunities for an active leisure time, either as part of a club or independently. The leading sports associations in the region offer handball, football, swimming, orientation/skiing/multisport. The Isaberg recreation area, which offers downhill skiing, mountain biking, golf and fishing, is located in the municipality. The area is surrounded by woods, fields and lakes. Gislaved, and its immediate surroundings, is Sweden's most densely packed when it comes to companies in, or connected to, the plastics industry. As a part of the Gnosjö region, a strong entrepreneurial spirit and many innovative companies in different sectors can be found here. Consequently accompanying family members also have good opportunities to secure employment here.
You can find various forms of housing here. Apartment or detached house in “town” or a house in the “countryside”? Wherever you choose to live, you will not have a long journey to work. Child care and schools are well-developed here. If you start to miss the big city feel, you can reach Jönköping, Borås, Halmstad and Växjö in about an hour.
